Documents we manage for the office

Each type of merchandise may require different documentation. We review what applies to your operation before arrival.

Basic documents

Commercial invoice, packing list, and bill of lading or air waybill. Required for all imports without exception.

Certificates and origin

Certificate of origin, laboratory analysis or other documents that may apply depending on the type of product and country of origin.

Permits and NOM standards

We identify if your product requires prior permits from COFEPRIS, SENASICA or other agencies, or compliance with NOM standards before shipment.

Does IMPORTEX GROUP have its own customs broker?
No. Formal customs clearance is performed by a certified customs broker. What we do is coordinate directly with that broker, manage the documentation, and follow up with you throughout the entire process so you don't have to handle it yourself.
What documents do I need for customs clearance?
The basic documents are: commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading or airway bill, and depending on the product, certificates of origin, NOM standards, or specific permits. We review what applies to each operation with you prior to arrival.
How long does customs clearance take in Mexico?
It depends on the type of merchandise, the port of entry, and whether there is a customs inspection (physical examination). With complete and correct documentation, many clearances are resolved within 1 to 3 business days. Our management aims to have the documentation ready prior to arrival to avoid wasting time.
Will you support me if my merchandise requires special permits or NOM standards?
Yes. We identify in advance if your product requires prior permits, compliance with NOM standards, or other regulatory requirements. We manage this together with the customs broker to prevent the merchandise from being held at customs due to incomplete documentation.
